Apple iPad Projector

A lot of iPad users are unaware of ultra portable and iPad-compatible projectors that make watching your 7″ content a much more emmersive experience. Whether you are looking to play games on a bigger screen, watch movies with friends or present to a large audience – an iPad projector will allow you to do all of that almost 200″ from just a tiny iPad or iPad 2 screen.

iPad Projectors for iPad 2

The initial iPad model was not particularly compatible with any projectors. Microvision launched a projector called the SHOWWX that allowed connectivity to the iPad as well as all VGA devices. It was the first of its kind to really be a success in the industry and since then many pocket projectors have followed. Just over a year on from the initial SHOWWX release, the SHOWWX+ HDMI has come to market that allows connectivity to any device with a HDMI socket. And yes, that includes the iPad 2. This iPad projector still has the same ultra small (iPhone sized) shell and was designed largely to work as an iPad 2 projector. With a higher contrast and brighter display than much of its competitors, the SHOWWX+ HDMI is certainly one of the best ‘pico’ projectors around for iPad and iPad 2.

iPad 3 Projector?

If the rumours are true then we may expect to see built in projectors for the iPad 3 and iPhone 5 in 2012. This would dramatically increase the usability of the iPad but it may also wipe out the market for iPad specific projectors.

But forget the rumours. If you are the owner of an iPad or iPad 2 then you should really take a closer look at these iPad projectors – arguably one of the best mobile devices of 2011.

Do Your Windows Provide Good Home Security?

home securityDid you know that one home is burglarised every 15 seconds? This statistic is due to the fact that a lot of people become complacent when it comes to ensuring home security. It is common for people to think that untoward incidents caused by miscreants would not happen to them. Violence and crimes are blared in radios and televisions. Almost every day, various crimes are the headlines of newspapers.

The home is the nest! Generally people would scrimp and save to be able to have a home they can be proud of…a home where the family will live happily and safely. The home should be a place where the residents would be able to sleep soundly at night. However, nothing is safe from burglars these days. Choosing to build a home in a safe neighbourhood is not an assurance that the property and most importantly, the family will be safe from criminals. A home owner has to do something to ensure home security. Burglars would always be on the lookout for the house’s security weakness and in most cases it would be the windows. Unsecured windows will act as magnets to thieves. To ensure home security you can burglar-safe your windows.

Lock out crime by making sure that a good lock is installed on all the windows as it would make it hard for a burglar to access the house. If the window is accessible from the ground, it would be a better idea to put in security metal bars. This would mean that burglars that break the glass or chip off the putty to remove the entire pane would still be prevented from breaching home security. Hanging blinds would not only enhance the appearance of the room. It will also be a good security measure as potential thieves would not be able to see and be tempted to break in to get the valuables inside the house.

Making Mobile Phone Insurance Easy

When you are shopping for mobile phone insurance, a few things to keep in mind to make your search easier are:

• Don’t feel obligated to purchase your mobile phone insurance from the same store you purchase your phone from. Shop around to make sure you find the coverage that suits your needs and budget.
• Go with a company that guarantees a hassle free replacement for phones that are lost, damaged or stolen.
• Never purchase insurance from a company that cold calls you, unless you are able to verify that they’re a legitimate insurance provider. A true company will provide you with a phone number so you can call them, and a paper contract.

These may seem like obvious points, but there are many who are under the impression that all mobile phone insurance is created equal, which is not true. Others are intimidated by insurance shopping, thinking that there are no good deals out there. The fact is that there are very good coverage plans, and reliable companies with wonderful customer service who have been insuring mobile phones and other personal electronic devices for many years. A small investigation will give you some good leads to follow up on, and should end with a satisfactory mobile phone insurance plan for you.

In the UK some companies have been reluctant to offer the type of services that guarantee a phone replacement within 48 hours, or coverage without a lot of tricky fine print. But, since mobile phones have become so popular, there now are a number of companies that offer hassle free mobile phone insurance. Depending on the type of phone you have, and the type of contract you have, there will likely be some additional charges for a replacement phone, but nowhere near the type of cost will you take on if you have to purchase a new phone at regular cost.

Fundraising Ideas for Schools Using Raffles

School Fundraising IdeasSchools are faced with many economic challenges along with the tremendous responsibility of educating our children and preparing them for the world work or higher education. In order to supplement school budgets which often don’t cover the cost of extra-curriculum and fun events, new classroom equipment or computers, schools have been using fundraising methods for many years to raise needed monies. One of the very exciting and simple to organise fundraising ideas for schools is to hold a Raffle.  Kids can be great natural promoters and if your school does decide to hold a raffle, you can be sure your school’s kids will get every last one of those tickets sold.

Raffles (and also tea towels) in fact have been one of the top fundraising ideas for schools for a long time, as they don’t require a huge expenditure of time to organize, plan and carry through. Getting a few local businesses in your community to donate high-end items, or sell it to you at a substantially reduced cost which saves isn’t going to be that difficult to do. A good majority of community minded businesses are more than happy to help schools and kids by supporting or donating items that will be used as Raffle prizes. As a matter of fact, it also advertises for their business, thus making it one of the more lucrative fundraising ideas for schools because of that. With not a lot of investment on the part of the teachers, headmaster, kids or parents for that matter, a large portion of the funds will go directly into the projects community pot.

One important aspect with Raffles being one of your fundraising ideas for schools is that they are subject to gambling and gaming laws within the UK and other countries and therefore very strict and rigid rules must be adhered to.

What is the best Method for Optimising an Authority Website?

While there are many universally applicable rules for great SEO, ultimately every website is unique and therefore the strategy required must be tailored around its strengths, weaknesses and unusual characteristics. However, in simplistic terms there are two broad categories that most websites fall into, and it is those two categories that this article is concerned with.

These are high authority websites and low authority websites. The latter is the new website that has bags of potential but you are starting from scratch. No links, no on page SEO, so community. Nothing. If the market exists and there is adequate demand then every step, no matter how small, will have a noticeable impact upon the rankings and traffic generating ability of the site. Even low quality links will still have an impact, and each tweak to the on page considerations will allow you to tap into untouched long tail areas of the market.

And then there is the authority site; a completely different animal and one that demands an entirely different approach. I know this as I have learnt it to my cost in the past. I took on a mature site with PR 5. I initially made some on page tweaks and instantly there was a positive surge in rankings and traffic, but it soon plateaued and I had to up my game, so I began link building to the home page. While I only employed white hat techniques, the links were of relatively low value and guess what – it was a complete waste of time. Then finally it clicked – content!

About 70-80% of traffic that enters a site comes in through long tail traffic, so forget endlessly battering away at that one trophy term. Take advantage of the existing authority by creating more and more high quality content that is immediately ranked using the existing page rank.

So, for example, if I have a high PR site offering internet marketing services in the East Midlands, UK, then rather than trying to rank for the obvious big terms like SEO Leicester or Social Media in Nottingham through endless link building, I am much better off adding additional high quality content to the site itself that offers users a great experience, and huge volumes of long tail traffic will immediately pour in!
